Storage is part of the route because only loot that comes home with the vehicle and crew becomes progress. If a stop gives you good items, the safest moment to pack them is before the next ambush scatters the run across the floor.
Green boxes work best for portable loot hauls when they sit near a door or a short storage route. A box buried deep inside the vehicle can still cost the run if nobody can grab or secure it while the Trampler is taking damage.
Fixed storage is for the things that keep the vehicle alive. Food in the fridge protects respawns, fuel near engine use keeps the route moving, and mounted weapon supplies near the gun plan make reloads faster. Mixing survival supplies with sell loot slows every repair, reload, and respawn.
Before extraction, one storage pass is enough. Valuable items need to be inside the Trampler, and important loot loses value when it sits loose after a fight. If the airship is already coming, low-value junk can wait; the boxed loot that pays for the next run cannot.
